2nd Annual Janis Best Memorial Run

October 27 – 7:30 PM

This race is being held in honor of Janis Best, an intelligent, passionate and inspirational woman who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She was on the Board of Directors of the Yavapai Humane Society from 2010-2015 and an ardent animal rights supporter. This run will be held in her honor.

The second annual Janis Best Memorial run will take place on the beautiful Peavine trail in Prescott Arizona. This course will be run on an old railroad grade trail that winds thru scenic boulders, and past the picturesque waters of Lake Watson. The half marathon course will head out farther and jump on the Iron King trail towards Prescott Valley where you will turn around and head back to the finish.

The course follows the former Santa Fe, Prescott & Phoenix Railway corridor that fed into Prescott, once the territorial capital of Arizona and famous for its copper mining. Wooden decking and railroad ties lie scattered by the trail. The half marathon runners get some additional sites as they run by a few antique train cars and many more castle like boulders.

Run Prescott is the race organizer and net proceeds will benefit the homeless pets at Yavapai Humane Society. Register today at www.runprescott.com
